The seismic activities in recent years show that the seismic activity in China is more active than ever. Whether the safety-related slopes under earthquake action stand stable or not is directly related to the safety of projects themselves. If these slopes fail and cause damages, it will probably induce the occurrence of catastrophic secondary disasters. Therefore, the study of seismic response of slope failure mechanism is of great practical significance. In this thesis, the present studies of the slope actions at home and abroad are reviewed and then a targeted research into the problems in the present studies. First, the principles, methods and steps of slope dynamic calculation with the numerical simulation software FLAC are introduced, and then the variations of the horizontal and vertical acceleration response at different parts of the slope are studied with FLAC, and a Fourier spectrum analysis is made. Second, drawing on the expression of dynamic stress induced by the propagation of P wave and S wave in the medium in rock dynamics, the author quantifies the horizontal seismic force and vertical seismic force experienced by rock soil units in the form of stress, introduces them to the dynamic failure mechanism calculation of rock soil units, and discusses the failure mechanism of the horizontal seismic force, the vertical seismic force and their coupling to rock soil units. Finally, the analysis models of a homogeneous and generalized slope dynamic failure mechanism of soil and rock are built respectively, the seismic forces the slope experienced are quantified in the form of stress, and the states of the stress of the slope of rock and soil units under earthquake's dynamic stress and gravitational stress are analyzed. Meanwhile, a simple theoretical calculation is made to the failure mechanism of the rock and soil in different parts of the slope on the basis of tension and shear failure criterion and then the numerical simulation is used to verify the theoretical results of the analysis, and the main conclusions are as follows:...
