Large heap hill engineering have large area and high fill engineering load characteristics, its deformation characteristics is unclear, especially in the complex foundation area. There exists some engineering geological problems like uneven foundation settlement and shear destruction, especially the uneven distribution of soil and rock foundation. We must carry on the calculated and analyzed, and put forward the countermeasures to ground treatment and slope reinforcement measures. The safety coefficient is used to indicate the stability of the slope, and stability is considering from two aspects:strength and deformation. In the process of the heap load, it is shown visually the slope deformation rate, namely the horizontal displacement rate and sedimentation rate.Taking the heap hill project of Zhenjiang sports exhibition center as an example, by choosing reasonable parameters and using large geotechnical finite element calculation software PLAXIS to calculate the deformation of soil foundation and fill slopes. The calculating results indicated that their deformation characteristics and collapsibility distortion rate characteristics, then we can put forward a suitable deformation control indexes to guide engineering construction. The analysis conclusion of this paper is as follows:(1) based on elastic-plastic model, it reveals the maximum horizontal displacement happens at 35~45m height of the slope, the biggest horizontal displacement occurred in the 2/3 height of the slope surface; (2) the vertical settlement has highly approximate into a straight line relationship with the height of soil foundation, maximum vertical displacement (settlement) appears in the central and top of the slope, but the uneven settlement happens at the area nearby the slope shoulder; (3) the biggest sedimentation rate and horizontal displacement rate of the first heap load phase are respectively 2.1 mm/d and 1.7 mm/d, the biggest sedimentation rate and horizontal displacement rate of the second heap load phase respectively for 5.8 mm/d and 17.4 mm/d.The analysis reveals that the deformation characteristics of fill soil and foundation soil in heap hill project is relatively complex, deformation control index selection should be combined with engineering practice and the stability of the slope.Result shows that, it is effective to analysis slope deformation of high fill by using numerical simulation with non-linear and elastic-plastic FEM, and the theoretical analysis results consistent with the practical monitoring results very well. It accumulates experience in deformation analysis for similar engineering.
