The Italian Pavilion of Expo 2010 in Shanghai, uses "transparent cement" as a new Energy-saving materials in its building surface, which not only bring us strong visual impact, but also can regulate the light and temperature inside. It gives me a good shock and interest. With lots of questions, I scroll a large number of books, papers and any information about "transparent cement", in hope to find out the process of the produce and development. With researches of some cases, we can have a comprehensive and systematic understanding of "transparent cement". Thesis also can be used as a reference material.Thesis is divided into the following sections:The first chapter of the study the origin, purpose, and research methods are explainedChapter 2 talks about the development of "transparent cement" and the research on "transparent cement" for many years. It was first invented by Aron Losonczi in 2001 and most of its attempts are in Europe. For some reasons, it just be used to separate the space or architectural decoration.Chapter 3 discusses its production process, analyze its possibility of production and widespread. Fewer people were working on this field in our countries. Because of its immature, the cost is very expensive. We should try our best for its widespread.Chapter 4 describes the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2010 in Shanghai which is the only one to use "transparent cement" in its building surface, especially the design and construction principle of "transparent concrete" sidings. The Italian Pavilion of Expo 2010 in Shanghai gives me a chance to word on it. Because of the participate of our design institute and construction team, I can get more information about the pavilion and study harder. The last chapter explained the existence of "transparent cement" technology that problems and shortcomings. Finally, this article summarizes the research done. The cases which uses "transparent cement" as their building materials were very fewer and with little construction experience, they can't provide comprehensive and systematic construction technology.
