Section Research Of Public Architecture Based On Its Function

The method of section is the most convenient bond linked the building and it's space, which is also a way to seek solution of breakthrough. The researching to the sectional strategy of architecture and its landscape design is not only a simple analysis of different schools or styles, but also refers to the deeply thinking of contemporary architectural design method and space building skills. However, in contemporary Chinese architectural education system, "section" is always in a subordinate status. There is always ordinary interior space beneath the surface of complex plane and colorful appearance. That is to say, the weakening design of building section leads to the architecture and its landscape lifeless. In this case, the content of the paper has certain practical value.If we try to study and interpret the problem existed in China architecture and then solve it, it is necessary for us to find a suitable "tool" and resort it. The most ideal method to analyze the internal complex and variable information of the architecture and its landscape is to build data base. They are complex organisms. Every project can be supposed to a layer, and in which has specific attribute and parameter. And every layer contains sub-layer. When the numbers of layer and date have been finished, we could analyze it from the interactive association among layer to its inner connotation, or analyze it conversely. Therefore, the layer can be defined as a group of organized parameters, among which exists a set of mode, and the mode can be expressed by formula. The resource could be in full control once we have mastered the layer mode, which helps for the scientific analysis. It originates from a rational analysis method of layer function performed by computer.For the convenience of the research object analysis, the author has drawn out a flat section map of hundred years'classical architecture and its site after collecting and organizing the basic information of the modern and contemporary construction. Then, he classified it with the concept of layer network.Based on the layer network method, he introduced the concept of "diameter degrees" into the paper to study further the formation method of section. Then, he interpreted some of the cases in detail.From the analysis, the functional layer is always considered firstly. Then, the conceptual design is finally completed with the architecture space generated by the sectional organization function, and architectural form enriched and replenished by other layer requirements. It is a refutation and criticism for the architectural design method of Marketization, large quantity, copy type emerged in China nowadays. Meanwhile, it fully reveals the function, space, construction and form hidden behind the architectural section. Also the generation relationship of architecture reveals the vague relationship between internal and external of building. Making the specious logic relationship clear in architecture and solving all kinds of contradictions and problems. Meanwhile, it discusses the methodology and philosophy of design generation ways. It illustrates that section is not only a tool reflected architecture passively, but more importantly, it is an edge tool of seeking the best design way for functionality initiatively.It also proves that there is profound architectural semantics hidden beneath the shallow presentation of "section" concept. It is that the cross-section drawn not only conveys the physical and structural information of architecture in solidification condition, but also helps the architect and user mould and understand some concept categories. They could not be cut but are real in existence in architectural language, such as Function, Space and Genius Loci, and so on.Finally, the paper concludes a kind of design method based on the analysis results. That is, in the design process, the functional layer of analysis and development is viewed as a key entrance, referring and making use of the implication and restriction of parameters in other hierarchies. Then, constructing the sectional framework preliminarily and carrying out the design method of construction and model selection. Meanwhile, providing related design strategy for the architecture characterized by contemporary spirit and space quality, and reference for the follow-up studies.
