The incremental launching method is increasingly applied to the construction of steel box girder.This method is used to the construction of reinforced concrete bridge over a long period of time. The theoretical research used on steel box girder bridge by incremental launching method is insufficiency compared with those on concrete bridge. It is necessary to research the structural performance of steel box girder constructed by the incremental launching method.The thesis focused on the structural performance of the steel box girder during the process of incremental launching construction. First of all, based on the analysis of the negative bending moment and the reaction, the optimum design of guide girder was discussed. The FEM element model of Tonghuihe bridge was created to analyze the structural behavior of the steel girder during the incremental launching construction stage.In order to get the local stress behavior of the steel box girder, the FEM model was created to simulate the stress development during incremental launching process. The calculated results showed the corner stiffer can ameliorate the stress state of steel box.The FEM model based on contact element was created to simulate the friction force between the girder and the pier. This method provided a new idea to analyse the behavior of structural constructed by incremental launching method.
