With the acceleration of urbanization and the rapid development of economy, the dramatic increase in car ownership makes the urban road traffic facing the increasingly serious traffic congestion problems. Traffic management and control departments have been working to find a passage to effectively improve the efficiency of the urban road traffic, to reduce ways of traffic congestion phenomenon to happen.Emerge and development of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) becomes the best way to solve the urban road traffic congestion problems, and effectively improves the urban road traffic operation efficiency. ITS is the frontier problem of the transportation field in the world.As the core component of ITS, Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) integration system in accordance with the principles of system engineering, implements the traffic Real-time control and command and management through computer network technology, using advanced computer, communications, video surveillance technology, automatic control technology, traffic detection, traffic signal control, traffic engineering planning, transportation television monitor, traffic accidents in the rescue and organically integrated information system..ATMS realized collection, transmission, storage, analysis, processing and application of the traffic information, achieves the change the traffic management from static and simple management to the dynamic and intelligent management, so that the static and dynamic traffic information is used and shared by travel persons, drivers, system managers, researchers and government agencies to the greatest extent.and achieve effective operation of the large dynamic optimal transportation systems, effectively meets the growing public transport needs, plays a very important role, in solving the traffic congestion.To implement the functions of ATMS must rely on the collection of a variety of traffic information, and the information is stored in form of data, in order to improve the efficiency of information access, to reduce storage space occupied by information resources, this article is based on the function of ATMS, the analysis of the information needs of ATMS and based on the information needs, to study the organization method of the traffic data of ATMS.According to relevant studies, combined with the author's point of view, this article will study traffic data management methods based on the ATMS from the following aspects:1) Preface. By studying the background to propose the main research object and significance of this paper, and describe the status of the research data organization, and ultimately determine the main research contents.2) To analyze basic functions of ATMS and data system requirements. Through a comprehensive analysis of the functions of ATMS system, to classify the information needs, and base on the needs to define the data system which ATMS needs and to divide the traffic date system based on ATMS in detail.3) Study on the model of the traffic data for ATMS. In order to organize the traffic data for the ATMS rationally, to start with the analysis and study of the common data model in this chapter,through the analysis of the data system and kinds of data model to build the space-time traffic data concept model, logical model and physical model of ATMS.4) Study on the methods of the traffic data for ATMS. This chapter will comparatively analyze the existing method of the data organization and ultimately determine the appropriate method of the traffic data organization of ATMS system.
