Grab Bucket Ship Unloader (GBSU) is one of the large scale port logistic equipments. It has played an important role in bulk material handling. With the increasing of the large bulk ships, In order to improve the efficiency of the port, the capacity of grab has become great. This put forward higher requirements for stability and reliability of GBSU. In order to extend the life and improve the reliability and efficiency of GBSU, it is necessary to development a software platform, which can manage the main mechanical parts of unloader.The research object of this thesis is the GBUS of Baosteel. With the Calculation of bearing life, development and apply a software platform to the unloading machine. The application platform can improve the existing inadequate maintenance and provide protection for the maintenance of the main components, thereby enhancing the utilization of ship unloader and enterprise productivity.The GBSU was working in the periodic variable load, so its main failure mode is fatigue failure. This article Calculate the bearing life of GBSU use the fatigue theoretical method, for get the forces the bearing, the wire rope tension of the GBSU has been measured with a specially compression tension sensor. The data of measured load were processed to the formation of load spectrum, the last, become the changing load into the average stress of the bearing and calculated using Miner law. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduced the development of ship unloader and analyzes the existing calculation methods of bearing fatigue life under variable load, and then put forward the purpose and significance of this thesis. In chapter two, descript the work process grab ship unloader and the structure of the compression tension sensor, Focus of this chapter is the analysis of the load spectrum and the stress of bearing. In chapter three, put the variable load into the average stress of the bearing and calculated using Miner law. In chapter four, introduced the development process of the platform, ideas of the platform and Practical significance. And the last chapter, the author summarizes the whole thesis and states some new ideas to existing problems.The result of this thesis can be applied to other ship unloader. Therefore, this thesis has extensive practical application.
