Design a test system of insect flight capacity, which is based on the magnetic type insect flight mill. The test system uses the Sunplus SPCE061A SCM and computer control technology to judge flight status of insect and to calculate flight time-data.After using the system, staff could understand the flight ability of the insects under different environments and get some reliable data for studing of insect flight behavior further.The system consists of insect flight mill, data transmission system and data display, storage.Utilizing the flight mill test system, microcontroller and computer to complete the test for insect's flightability. To making a set of maglev type flight mill and a set of photoelectric sensor on the flight mill used to detect insect flight-time and insect flight-status (flight or stop), and to change the analog signal that can not be tested into voltage signal that can be testet. Photoelectric sensor designed for monitoring flight status and converting information, SCM is used to identify and compare the data from the photoelectric sensor. Computer sends commands periodically to the SCM through the USB communication module, SCM accumulates flight time according to computer commands. And the time-data of the test will be sent when the SCM identifies the signal from photoelectric sensor high-level. Computer gets the time-data from SCM, shows the time-data on the interface of the PC's window, and stores in the ACCESS database.The test system is very easy to connect the line, and could be able to adapt to different conditions, and has a good applicability, and is convenient to debug, install and maintain.The test results show that designing requirements of the test system canbe completed, the system's real-time is good, its structure is simple, it is suitable for testing flight capacity of small insect, and can improve the reliability for testing data of flight capability. The test system uses USB data transmission and displays the test-data of flight directly, which improves research efficiency. Test data stored also provides convenience for the research. The system is a simple, feasible and reliable designing system.
