For the past few years, accidents caused by windage yaw of suspension insulator strings of transmission lines occured frequently, which often led to windage yaw discharge, transmission line trip-out, transmission line electric arc harm, wire disconnection and broken stocks, etc. It has seriously affected the normal operation of the power grid, and it also caused a great deal of economic loss. The fact that the windage yaw angle of suspension insulator strings is too large is the direct cause of accidents caused by windage yaw. Therefore, there is a great of significance to design a set of transmission line windage yaw angle real-time monitoring system to guarantee the safe and stable operation of the power grid.By collecting, summarizing and analyzing the domestic and foreign research on transmission line windage yaw, this paper introduces a transmission line windage yaw online monitoring system based on ARM technology, data acquisition technology, RF technology and GPRS communication technology. With the help of the understanding of transmission line windage yaw mechnism, our work fullfils the purpose of monitoring the critical circuits all-weather and enlightening the new path of monitoring transmission line windage yaw for our country.The main work in this thesis is listed as follow:(1) Analysis of the current developing situation of domestic and foreign transmission line windage yaw monitoring system, comparison of the prons and cons of various monitoring methods, as well as proposal of overall design scheme of the project.(2) Design of the hardware circuit of transmission line windage yaw monitoring system, including GPRS communication circuit, power supply circuit, memory circuit, reset circuit, JTAG interface, clock circuit, data acquisition circuit, windage yaw monitoring module, RF reception module, etc.(3) Completion of the development and debuging of monitoring extension software, including GPRS network connection, RF module driver as well as data acquisition, storage and transmission.(4) Introduction to the main functions of the upper computer software in monitoring center.
