The design of space antenna includes many aspects, such as electrical design, structural design, thermal protection design, and so on. The electrical design and thermal protection design of space antenna are performed in this article. The prime tasks and outcomes are as follows:1. A single-feed single reflector antenna is designed by changing the shape of the reflector and a shaped beam is achieved, realizing illumination of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.2. Operating in space environment, the deployable truss antenna is affected by the heat environment relatively large, a procedure that can parametrically establish the deployable truss antenna is done, the shadow on the offset deployable truss antenna in orbit, which is caused by the solar panels and the satellite platform, is taken into account when calculating the reflector antenna's temperatures in four positions: spring equinox, summer solstice, autumnal equinox, winter solstice. Some useful conclusions are drawn, which can be used as the reference for the thermal design in the project.3. First, a passive inter-modulation analysis method is proposed. Then the passive inter-modulation power level of the flat panel model is calculated. Finally the relationship among the values of the incident electric field, the width of the contact region, the coefficients of the nonlinear equation and the passive inter-modulation is investigated.
