A compliant stable mechanism is one which gains some or all of its motions from the deflection of relative flexibility of its members rather than from rigid-body joints only. The devices remain distinct stable equilibrium positions without power input or small power input, they have many possible applications such as switches, valves and own many advantages,such as,reduced wear, conventient assembly ,etc.In this paper, by Pseudo-Rigid Body Model analyse the energy about Young bistable mechanisms,otherwise,by principle of virtual work and ANSYS software analyse the load,mainly present a new tristable mechanisms called double Young tristable mechanisms (DYTMs) which achieve their tristability by prestrainedly connecting two identical Young bistable compliant mechanisms oppositely. The feasibility of DYTMs is demonstrated by two Young bistable mechanisms'processing prototype. In order to satisfy DYTMs'specific design requirements and ensure their tristability, A Particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based method of DYTMs is also provided to optimization design.Other outlines is synthesis analysis the bistable and tristable compliant mechanisms.The part has two components: study polynomial which can express the moment function of tristable compliant mechanisms; sum up the requirement about moment polynomial own three stable equilibrium positions.
