With the development of our country's economy and the raising of people's life, the demand of the power is more and more, which makes power system sustainable development in China. Such as the power grid is extending, the number of the power equipment is increasing, and it is more and more complicated in lines, handling and operation. Meanwhile, there is higher demand in running state of power gird, design and reform of lines and analysis and treatment of fault.Virtualization has been development since 1960s. At the beginning, it is used in computer, but with the development of the computer technique and higher requirement for each tread. Now, virtual technology is used widely in each tread. As an important part of national economy and people's living, power should be managed more perfect. There is much power system analysis software, but they have some disadvantages such as bad generality and imperfect functions. Aimed at these shortcomings, this paper develops and designs a power grid virtual system that adopts object-oriented programming technology and Visual C++6.0 as development tools. The system consists of drawing, database and calculation, these parts can realize the combination of lines drawing and power grid analysis. The virtual system has some advantages that are friendly interface, simple operation, powerful function and convenient maintenance.In this paper, all power equipments are defined by graph class, because of different characteristic in different equipment. Every graph's information is saved in relevant class. Drawing system is less memory, simple operation and easy used. It can draw power lines on basis of graphs, do basic operation that are copy, paste, move, rotate, delete and so on. In drawing system, equipment parameters can be input in data dialog box, while graph element and data are one-to-one correspondence, easy to input and browse. Database is an important part in virtual system, which connects drawing system and computing system closely, so it is convenient to save and transfer data. Reasonable frame, excellent performance and better generalization are main characteristics of database. In computing system, it makes topology analysis of power grid through determining the power wiring. By comparing several method of power flow calculation, it chose P-Q method that is suitable for distribution network and better convergence. The computing system is stable and accurate.The power grid virtual system has played an important role in power simulation, which supplies convenience for lines Design, state analysis and personnel training. So the virtual system is a powerful assistant tool for dispatcher.
