Power transformer is one of the most important equipment for the power system. Its stable operation is the reliable guarantee of the entire power system. By using simple and efficient online monitoring and maintenance techniques, which works as the substitude of traditional examination and repair methods, we can detect the early function fault in time, ensure the effective management and safety control of the transformer, and protract maintenance intervals and its service life. It is of significance to safe and economical operation of power system. Alteration with modern computer science and information technology for the monitoring technology for transformers, can detect the real time work status of equipment. In this paper, a PIC microcontroller system has been developed for transformer oil online monitoring and purification system. A special PIC microcontroller is selected to implement communication technology based on Web. This system meets demands of the power transformer online monitoring and fault diagnosis and insulated oil online purification, with the foundation of dissolved gases analysis technology and variable frequency hydraulic system theory. The system may better ensure the security of the power system.Firstly, a broad overview of the issue, related to research background and significance, has been given. After looking over and perusing the domestic and foreign interrelated iteratures, the issue summarize the research and application of power transformer online monitoring and insulated oil purification technology. In addition to the analysis of main existing problems, research contents of the study are mentioned.Secondly, the relationship of transformer internal faults with the oil dissolved gases content is analyzed. The principle and applications of monitoring and fault diagnosis technology are deeply studied. This paper confirms the power transformer online monitoring technology proposal based on transformer dissolved gases and moisture in oil analysis.Thirdly, the hardware and software design of the subordinate computer of the monitoring system is introduced. The hardware, designed for real-time data collection, adopt the PIC18F96J60 microcontroller to support network communication based on Web. According as the microcontroller, this issue complete the circuit design and software development for system functional modules required. These modules realize remote monitoring and control system with Web communication function based on the single-chip microcomputer.Fourthly, design and development efforts of the software, running on the host computer of the transformer oil online monitoring and maintenance system, is dilated in this chapter. Based on C++ Builder 6.0 as the development environment, user's monitoring interface and data management information systems are developed. The monitoring information system integrates three kinds of diagnostic algorithms as IEC three-radio method, rough set diagnosis method and fuzzy comprehensive diagnosis method. The combined application of these three diagnosis methods can estimate the transformer internal faults better.Finally, the overall design scheme of the online transformer oil purification system is explored. The transformer oil purification and filtration technology is proposed based on combination of onine monitoring system of transformer oil. The integrated scheme of oil online monitoring and purification technique is laid out in this chapter. The integrated system determine main control method as the variable frequency hydraulic system, using variable frequency speed regulation of asynchronous motor based on transvector control technique. In the end, a simulation system for variable frequency hydraulic system, operating for the oil purification system is carried out in MATLAB Simulink.
