With economic progress, social development, the auto industry has become a pillar industry of national economy. The rapid increase in the number of cars making the number of lead-acid batteries for automobile increased sharply, while the battery is also increasingly higher performance requirements, which requires a high level of battery performance must have testing equipment; and used at home and abroad test battery performance equipment, there are not full compliance with national standards. In view of this situation is not very reasonable, the paper battery performance testing system was discussed, based on microelectronics technology is developed, intelligent detection technology, computer technology, battery performance testing system, in order to achieve the performance of automotive starter batteries detection objectives. The use of this system to improve starting performance of the car, and promote the development of China's auto industry will play a huge role.Detection system is a set of battery performance and control, detection and management in one complete system, which consists of the battery constant current discharge control, data processing, communications and PC management of three parts. This paper discusses the function of the battery, structure, working principle and performance parameters, and then be selected according to the system and its peripheral components AT89S51 microcontroller battery discharge process control hardware design, by the PC, and the single chip, the lower computer through the RS232 bus realize the serial communication, and finally realized by the PC, the management of the whole system.PC management software in the Windows XP operating system using VB's development platform and modular design of each functional module and database module was designed; developed a single chip measurement and control software, PC to achieve the management software, and two data exchange agreement between Level; realize the data storage, query and other functions, improve the management of information technology standards. This article also in the practical application of the system is not reliable and interference of various factors of the system analysis, design, adopted a series of effective measures to improve system reliability and noise immunity. Finally, a series of experiments on the system's practical ability was assessed.Preliminary tests show the system:the system easy installation and reliable operation, stability, data transmission and accurate, user friendly. To achieve the expected goal and requirements for the next improvement and provides a basis for improvement.
