Energy shortage and environmental pollution are two major bottlenecks of development in today's society. Currently, a number of alternative fuel in internal combustion engines get more and more widely used, which has provided a broad space and a good opportunity to solve oil shortages and environmental protection. Natural gas is the third largest source of energy after coal and oil in the world. World proven reserves of natural gas energy has grown rapidly, in 10-20 years is projected to more than oil, will become the dominant energy in the 21st century, in meeting world energy demand. A lot of tests showed that the diesel/CNG dual fuel engine have significantly reduced almost all emissions of pollutants. Therefore, diesel engine fueled with natural gas has been the world attention. This article is based on recent studies on marine X6170ZC-19 diesel engine for dual fuel conversion Study. On the basis of Natural gas properties, the electronic control of diesel/CNG fuel engine's plan is presented. In analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing diesel gas supply system, the gas supply system was selected and a set of SCM diesel/CNG engine gas supply system was developed. The propose hardware and software solutions were also proposed and finally the converted dual fuel engine system performance test was conducted to study on the dual fuel engine power, replacement rate, fuel consumption, emissions performance research. The results showed that:fuel diesel/CNG blended fuels provide equal diesel power of the original machine; emissions, significantly reduce smoke, exhaust temperature and noise are lower than the original machine; the blended fuel has better fuel economy, too. Finally, the paper pointed out that the lack of systems and the next step to continue the work done.
