The developments of main stream pipes in power plant were summarized in the article. Watchful problems and the steps to be likely adopted of the main stream pipes which being used in power plants were brought forward. The 12Cr1MoV main stream pipes have worked for 230000 hours were studied in this article. To get the microstructure and properties of the main stream pipes of the 3th set, many ways were taken just like:chemical components analysis; normal and high temperature mechanics properties testing, metallographic analysis, SEM analysis. The results show that because of the gathering of carbide of Cr and Mo in the boundary, the pipes' hardness increase, the strike toughness decrease. This paper sought a quantitative method through fractal geometry, which can describe the pearlite's metallographic structure by fractal dimension.In the course of the research, the research datum can be taken as the foundation in both theoretics and practice in the metal intendance. The author thought that the practice application, in metal intendance, the economic benefit can't be put in the first place, safe work is the most important thing. We should take all this two aspect into account in the metal intendance work.
