Chemical recuperation gas turbine (CRGT) is a new advanced cycle for gas turbine which can enhance the cycle efficiency and reduce the NOx exhausts through fuel reforming process. The CRGT cycle take the turbine exhausts as its heat source. Fuel generates new synthetic fuels through steam reforming reaction. Then synthetic fuels burn in combustion chamber and recycle the energy of exhausts by steam reforming reaction. The crucial elements of CRGT cycle are reaction extent of fuel reforming and adaptability to different fuel. The ratio of recycle depends on reaction extent of fuel reforming and the feasibility of recycle in different gas turbines depends on fuel adaptability. This paper researches the fuel reforming progress under available conditions, and provides foundation for scheme design of CRGT cycle by the methods of simulation and experiments.This paper analyzed the fuel reforming progress under the condition of balance reaction, confirmed the calculation method of reaction product equilibrium composition and reaction enthalpy, and found out the influence of technological condition on the result of fuel reforming progress. The paper also confirmed the mechanism of methane reforming reaction and constituent of catalytic agent, researched the application of pre-reforming reaction.The paper analyzed the energy changes in all stages of the fuel steam conversion process. According to the model of balance reaction, the paper gave the calculation of the fuel reforming reaction using different fuels. It also gave the reaction mode as follows:first,make the liquid fuel achieve gas-rich reaction by pre-reforming reaction, then, the methane-rich gas will conduct multi-stage separation, deepening the depth of the fuel vapor reforming reaction under the gas turbine operating conditions. Besides, the reaction model results were calculated. It showed that taking this approach can increase the depth of the fuel steam reforming reaction.In response to the multi-stage separation (heat exchanger) reaction mode, the paper designed the fuel steam reforming reaction test-bed for different liquid fuel pre- reforming reaction tests .The purpose of the research is to study the effect of reaction conditions on the liquid fuel pre- reforming reaction and the changes on the relevant performance indicators of the catalyst during the reaction.Experimental result shows that the pre-reforming reaction can be used as the first stage reaction in multi-stage separation (heat transfer) reaction mode. Using the multi-stage separation (heat transfer) method to steam reform the fuel, can recycle the exhaust heat effectively. Using liquid fuel can carry out the gas turbine CRGT cycle.
