Marshalling stations are important basic units in railway transportation, which mainly handle the break-up and the marshalling of freight trains. The Routine work is organized by making station operation plan. The automatic making of marshalling station operation plan is an important symbol of railway dispatching and management modernization. The research in this field is developing rapidly in recent years. It has the vital significance to study the theory and methods of artificial intelligent and optimization of making marshalling station operation plan further and to search effective solution in making marshalling station operation plan,in order to improve efficiency of operation and scientific management in marshalling station. The making and optimization of marshalling station stage plan is an important part of station operation plan, which main content is to decide the marshalling structure and the sources of wagon-flow of departure trains, which is also called wagon-flow allocation problem. To solve this problem, the content, method, target and difficulty of marshalling station stage plan is summarized firstly, and the workflow, various elements in this process considered are analyzed. A wagon-flow allocation optimization model considering the order of breaking up and marshalling is proposed. To solve this problem, an solving method including Estimation of Distribution Algorithms(EDA) is also designed, specific data of a station is calculated and analyzed under both conditions of optimized and not optimized the order of breaking up and marshalling respectively. Based on the previous wagon-flow allocation optimization model, the wagon-flow allocation problem considering three kinds of departure conditions and flexible constraint is studied, another wagon-flow allocation optimization model which describes the actual problem better and the solving method is proposed, the wagon-flow data of a station in one stage is calculated and analyzed.
