Aluminum secondary battery is a new generation of chemical power supply, after the second lead-acid batteries, nickel cadmium batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries and lithium secondary battery. Compared with other secondary battery systems, aluminum secondary battery have characteristics of higher energy, lower cost, lighter weight, smaller, more environmentally friendly, safe and stable, cost-effective and so on.Based on the theoretical system of aluminum secondary battery, ionic liquids electrolytes are studyed. One-step preparation with AlCl3/triethylamine hydrochloride liquid, and the cyclic voltammetry and conductivity tests, to study the electrochemical stability window, the conductivity curve with temperature, thermal stability and the mechanism of deposition and dissolution of aluminum are studyed. On this basis, various organic solvents on the improvement of the electrolyte are studied. In the PC, THF, DCE, EC, DCE and EC are optimized. Then by adding 8% DCE +2% EC,7% DCE + 3% EC,6% DCE +4% EC,5% DCE +5% EC, different organic solvents on the improvement of the electrolyte are studyed.The mesoporous carbon/sulfur composite as cathode materials for secondary aluminum battery is studyed. Soft template synthesis of mesoporous carbon materials, the XRD spectra, SEM of sulfur compound before and after, BET changes in different proportions are studyed.Mesoporous carbon of the sulfur composite cathode materials, to 7% DCE +3% EC diluted AlCl3/triethylamine hydrochloride ionic liquid as electrolyte, composed of high purity aluminum for the aluminum anode secondary batteries, do Charge-discharge tests and by comparing the different mesoporous carbon and sulfur in the compound ratio of the impact of battery capacity, then of different binders on the impact of battery capacity.The results show that:(1) AlCl3/triethylamine hydrochloride salt ionic liquid with excellent physical and electrochemical performance, can be used as the electrolyte of aluminum secondary battery; by adding different organic solvents, DCE and EC can be found in a good performance to improve the deposition and dissolution of Al, and the redox peak current is higher, the reversible is stronger; by adding different proportions of mixed organic solvents, show that 7% DCE +3% EC added to the ionic liquid, the oxidation peak and reduction peak higher, the reversible of deposition and dissolution of aluminum stronger, The combined effect is the best.(2) Preparation of mesoporous carbon with highly ordered hexagonal structure, and mesoporous carbon coating of sulfur is better, when the C:S (mass ratio)=1:3, the sulfur and carbon mesoporous composite effect of the most good.(3) When the mesoporous carbon and sulfur compound with the ratio of 3:1, and use the CMC binder, the preparation of aluminum secondary battery in 30 cycles, the efficiency reached 79%, the initial discharge capacity was 96.8mAh/g, the maximum capacity of 109.6mAh/g.In this paper, with the ionic liquid electrolyte and mesoporous carbon//sulfur cathode material, the capacity and cycling performance of aluminum secondary battery has greatly improved, the activity of the prepared materials showed good electrochemical performance.
