Geotextile is a kind of engineering material and it is widely used in some countries. Although it increases the project cost, it can be used a long time and the maintenance is convenient. Meanwhile, the project is more safety after using the geotextile. It plays an important role in industry, agriculture and transportation fields. Some developed countries already have some test standards and methods of geotextile, but the research in our country is backwards. So, the study of the test system has great significance. The purpose of this paper is design a test system, which is useful to engineering selection and improving the automation of geotextile test.This paper designs overall program based on the design task and demand analysis. At the same time, the hardware system and software system are designed. In hardware, the computer is the core. The Advantech company's motion control card PCI-1240 and data acquisition card PCI-1711 were adopted in this system. This system uses foil method to test geotextile and correct results by mathematical model. The foil correction method means that the geotextile is put on standard foil, then give a liquid pressure to the geotextile until the geotextile expansion rupture. The location of the rupture size is detected and use mathematical model to correct the results. This system used efficiently visual language Visual Basic 6.0 to code and debug by calling driver function of motion control card and data acquisition card. The flow chart of main modules and subroutines were shown. The paper introduces the hardware design and operating principle of intelligent geotextile expansion rupture performance test system based on foil correction.Finally, a check on data acquisition has been done based on this system. The correction method was introduced, and the advice of the further research was presented.
