With the energy crisis was becoming more and more serious, energy saving was drawing more and more attention. The paper relied on the plate shell heat exchanger of aromatics disproportionation reactor in a petrochemical company, mainly study on the high efficiency of heat transfer equipment. The chief content are as follows.(1) For accurate numerical simulation and analysis of simulation results, the working media of-the plate-shell heat exchanger were studied, and the thermophysical properties of mixed aromatics were calculated by Aspen Plus. Using the appropriate function to fit the calculated data, then the change of physical properties with temperatures and with pressures was discussed. A comparison of the calculated data and production data of mixture feed indicated that the error was less than 9%. So the results of simulation were correct and reliable, we could use this method to the heat transfer calculations and design of hydrogenation heat exchanger.(2) Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods were used to simulate the flow field of corrugated channels, the flow pattern of fluid in corrugated channels and the influence of corrugation angle, corrugation density, and flow velocity on flow field was studied.(3) Three dimensional numerical simulations were conducted on corrugated channels with combination of different corrugated plates, the heat transfer factor j and friction factor ? were calculated under different flow velocities and structural parameters. The transforming laws of corrugated channels heat transfer and resistance characters along with the corrugation inclination angleβand the corrugation densityλ/h were carried out and the overall performance of corrugated channels were evaluated. The j/? factors of corrugated channels with different structural parameters were compared to evaluate the overall performance of corrugated channels and optimize the structural parameters.
