Interpretation And Development Strategy Of The Traditional Settlements In Plain-Zoumatang, In Ningbo

Ningbo is a JiangNan watery region which has long history with deep ancient cultural tradition and rich commercial culture.In recent year, the urbanization of a series of small cities around the main city is the main form of the whole urbanization. Therefore, its influence scope is extremely broad. It brings a huge impact on the traditional settlements in this area.The traditional settlement is facing the huge challenge and the opportunity to develop forward in the future. Zoumatang in Yinzhou is a very typical example, which is not so far from the south of central district of Ningbo Yinzhou, and the distance is about ten kilometers. So it is influenced deeply by the urbanization of south of the Yinzhou. In this case, the development of Zoumatang in the future is a good topic. In this essay, we try to find out traditional strengths and existing problems of Zoumatang under the urbanization and proposed some strategy to solve the problems through the interpretation of its environment, pace and function. The strategy can be used as guidance for its further development, foundation for further research. Above all, the author wish the research can be used as a model when we refer to similar problems.
