In recent years, as China's social and economic development and raising the level of modernization, especially in urban construction, the increasing number of high rise buildings and the rapid development of information technology, lightning disasters economic losses and casualties growing, it has become One of the worst natural disasters. Therefore, we should have sufficient knowledge of lightning protection work and attention to build a stable and reliable lightning protection systems to ensure the safety of buildings and distribution systems is especially important.At first, the article highlights the damage caused by lightning, described the status of domestic and international lightning protection technology, this paper discusses some major work done: the basic knowledge of lightning: the formation of lightning, thunder and lightning characteristics, activities of the law; lightning principle and the destructive effects of lightning; modern conventional lightning protection technology; building elements of lightning protection technology and the application of specific projects.By lightning the cause, the lightning current waveform diagram, lightning activity rhythm (lightning distribution of the general rules of the mountain lightning in the general law, the building struck by lightning parts of the law), lightning characteristics of the damage (lightning current heating effect, lightning current shock waves, lightning current electric power, lightning and lightning induced static hazards of electromagnetic induction) were analyzed and discussed, how to mine for the study were based on the work of foreshadowing. Then the article on the surge current distribution system for a variety of reasons (such as cloud to, lightning, spherical thunder, lightning electromagnetic pulse, etc.) are introduced and research, made all the appropriate preventive and protective measures to ensure the safe operation of power systems.Finally, focusing on end user distribution system, especially the construction of buildings, etc., from external to internal integrated lightning protection technology, in theory, such as economic and practical point of view, in my design in Foshan City, Guangdong defense of a Grade A office space Ray works in detail and examples of work based on the premise of lightning protection design, external lightning protection, internal surge protection principles, characteristics and design features and so on....
