In China, the ownership of air conditions rises at an alarming rate. The hot water consumption is growing rapidly according to the increase of air conditions. Traditionally, electric water heater and gas water heater can supply hot water, but with low energy efficiency. From the aspect of total building energy consumption, this thesis integrates different types of HVAC equipments into a small-size air conditioning unit with the functions of cooling, heating and hot water supplying (referred to as the CHU). CHU can not only provide cooling and heating as regular heat pump air conditioning, but can also produce hot water by recovering condensation heat in summer. All the year round, it can produce hot water on both air source heat pump mode and water source heat pump mode.Condensation heat recovery technology and multi-purpse heat pump air conditioner at home and abroad is analyzed first. Two different types of CHU are designed. One is changing the air heat exchanger of common multi-purpse heat pump air conditioner into a plate exchanger. This type of CHU is called PC-CHU. The other is two evaporators parallel connecting to each other and is called DE-CHU. Experimental prototypes are manufactured and dynamic property test systems of two CHU are built. Heating-Only mode and cooling&water-heating mode testing of PC-CHU are implemented. Performance testing is implemented on air source heat pump mode and water source heat pump mode in summers and winter conditions and performance testing is implemented on indirect joint mode also. Large amount of experimental testing data is obtained. The change laws of some main performance indexes of experimental operation with some main external parameters are obtain from the experimental data. The results reveal that both type of CHU perform well with less power energy and high coefficient.A CHU monitoring controller based on STM32103FVE microcontroller is developed in order to ensure stable, safe and efficient operation.
