Nickel-based superalloy plays an important role in the field of superalloy and has a wide working temperature range. If we take the international standard150MPa/100h of endurance strength as a standard to measure superalloy, the highest working temperature of superalloy is more than 1100℃.Based on the study of the effect of alloying element on nickel-based alloy, the strengthening mechanism of nickel-based alloy, microstructure and weldability of nickel-based alloy, we established the welding technology and nondestructive testing method of the Inconel601 Nickel-based superalloy. We also summed up some welding notes of the nickel-base superalloy. In addition, Welding tests of Inconel601 Nickel-based superalloy with different welding parameters were performed.We selected two groups of samples with significant difference energy input. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to identify the phases and microstructures of samples. The result showed thatγphase in the base metal consists ofγ′strengthening phase (Ni3Al) and MC-type carbide (TiC). When the value of energy input about was 3400J/cm, the alloy matrix structure did not change, moreover, epitomical solidification occurred in the weld structure and the base metal, the position of Al in part ofγ′phases was replaced by Ti to form Ni3(Al,Ti), the position of Ti in some original carbide was also replaced by Nb to form (Nb,Ti)C. When the value of energy input about was 6500J/cm, M23C6-type carbide occurred in the weld metal, segregation was also produced in the carbide containing Nb.In the assembly process of the double P combustion tube, we encountered some difficulties in the pipe butt joint process employing the one side welding both sides formation technology by the pulsed gas tungsten arc welding. For this reason, we developed some special clamping fixture suited to the pipe butt joint; it has the advantage of low costs, simple operation, and good protection result. Through the study of this paper, the internal gas protection measures could be well done during the butt welding assembly process of the Inconel601 double P combustion tube to ensure the forming quality of welding, which has been verified by experiments. We can get a good welding quality of Inconel601 superalloy to meet customer demand and manufacturing requirements.
