With the development of gear drive in the direction of high-speed, high loading capacity, low noise and long life, the application of high-precision gear with hard tooth face is prevailing, which also raise requirements about grinding technology of high-precision gear. There are gear grinding based on generating method, its processing efficiency is low and it can't grind the internal gears. Because of its high machining efficiency and easy operation, gear form grinding is gradually extended, but domestic research on the mathematical model of grinding force and grinding technology in grinding process is seldom, the technical parameters'optimization problem is not solved. These have restricted the development of gear form grinding technology. Currently, at home and abroad only existing the theory is about the plane grinding and generating grinding , the researching on technical parameters of form gear grinding is rarely seen. Therefore, studying the grinding force in the process of gear form grinding, analyzing the relationship between grinding force and the process parameters, optimizing technical parameters in process of grinding and improving the efficiency of grinding gear are extremely urgent. The main contents are researched in this paper as follows:1.Based on the geometric model of involute straight gear form grinding, the geometry and dimension of both grinding wheel and gear at any contacting moment are analysed and calculated. Based on the theory of causing grinding force and the surface grinding force formula established on the theory, the formula of gear form grinding force is obtained by integrating the grinding force in unit width along the involute direction. The formula of gear form grinding force proceeds simulation analysis and experiment to provide theoretical basis for the study of form gear grinding process parameters.2.According to the form grinding principle and the actual gear grinding process, the grinding process is divided into two stages: rough grinding and precision grinding. Researching the influence of the main grinding process parameters in different stages and optimizing the time in the coarse grinding stage and the roughness in the accuracy grinding stage are to establish the objective function in the different stages. The MATLAB is used to optimize and calculate the results.3.The experiment of form gear grinding tests the validity of optimization results; based on the formula of form gear grinding force, the relationship between grinding force and the technical parameters is studied by experiment, according to the current's situation corresponding to the grinding force change to get the impact what the grinding force is to the grinding process and to provide the basis of theoretical and experimental for the actual grinding.Theoretical analysis and experimental researches demonstrates that the proposed model of form gear grinding force is effectiveness, and prove optimizing grinding process parameters is reliability. the result provide theoretical basis for improving production efficiency and the quality of grinding.
