Due to space deployable structure technology can effectively reduce the spatial launch volume and the launch cost, it deserves people more and more attention. The ideal material for spatial deployable structure is shape memory thermoset resin composite. This paper blends EP and PU, in order to toughen EP system. Then to find the best system for fabric reinforced epoxy resin shape memory composite.Flexible curing agent and activity PU are used to toughen E-51 epoxy resin system, by FT-IR scanning, mechanical properties, SEM scanning, DMA and the shape memory performance test, analysis the effects of different degree of cure and toughen. The results show that the 30% toughening ratio, 80% of curing degree system's glass transition temperature is 92.3℃; the tensile strength is 37.66MPa, the elongation at break increase 87.90% than the system without toughening.PU was used to modified epoxy resin system, and then diluted it by aliphatic polyether, the purpose is to explore the best system of curing degree and dilution ratio. Different degree of cure and the system before and after dilution by the above methods was analyzed, the results showed that 80% degree of the curing system, its glass transition temperature is 94.6℃; the fracture elongation can increase 12.46%. This is the best curing degree for shape memory materials. After diluted, 30% ratio of dilution has the best toughness, so these systems can meet different demand of deployable structure technology.The kevlar fiber and carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin shape memory composites were manufactured. The results showed that the shape memory property of composites the system this paper choose can meet the requirements of deployable structure technology well.Shape memory epoxy resin/kevlar composite tubular structure was made. By heated it can be folded and expanded easily. Fold -deformation test showed that the fixed rate can reach 100%, and it can deform smoothly to its original shape in minutes.
