In the modern oil drilling engineering, in order to measure borehole parameters accurately, increase control efforts of trajectory, hit the target oil layer accurately, drilling process generally uses the Measurement-While-Drilling technology, MWD is a abbreviation of the technology of real-time measurement and transmission for underground information during the drilling process. Its characterizes without interrupting normal drilling conditions when instruments measure some information near the drill, and transmit information to the ground in a special way.With the growing number of well construction like the cluster structure wells, around the barrier wells, multi-lateral horizontal wells and connected wells, MWD directional probe precision magnetic bearing parameters have become increasingly demanding. MWD directional probe which measured parameters directly affects the accuracy or whether the well trajectory accurately track construction according to the design , so how to inspect MWD directional probe measurement accuracy in the pre-construction, to ensure the used measuring instruments in good working conditions become a problem to be solved.Based on the MWD directional probe described attitude measurement principle, we get the design requirements of MWD directional Probe Active magnetic field Calibration System step by step; after that we focus on the design of Calibration System excitation magnetic coil and Calibration System software design. In the design process of the excitation coil, we complete the square Helmholtz coil from the theoretical calculation, modeling and simulation to check the parameters to generate the actual processing of applications drawings; in the calibration of the system software design process, we selected based on VC++6.0 platform OpenGL function to complete and use OFFICE2007 the Excel class to complete the system of automatic calibration table generation.Finally, using experimental prototype, we build experimental platform to test the design of the system. Experimental results show that the calibration system achieve the desired design features, and basically complete the design goal. This article also found inadequate for experiments that require further improvement, gives a number of recommendations for the improvement of the calibration system.
