Hospital wastes are hazardous. Pyrolysis-gasification incineration is considered to be of prodigious long term potential. And the research on the pyrolysis-gasification is of certain sense.Five samples of hospital wastes are choosed. The weight loss experiments are carried out on TGA and gases emission experiments carried out on the minitype tube furnance in N2 atmosphere and N2 with 4% O2 atmosphere.The thermal mass loss characteristics of the samples are studied by using TGA (thermogravimetic analysis). The weight loss zones of are different, it depends on the components of the wastes. There are three weight loss interval in the pyrolysis of Perfusion tube, adhesive tape; two in the pyrolysis of gauze; one in the rubber glove, syringe. In the gasification atmosphere, the reaction temperature is lower than in nitrogen atmosphere,and the reaction rate of the the later phase is enlarged. The reaction rate of pyrolysis is enlarged more than gasification in fast heating rate. A first-order equation model is adopted to carry out dynamics fittings of thermal weight loss in nitrogen atomosphere, the linear dependences are all up to 0.97, and then all of the apparent activation energys are sloved.Experiments in certain heating rate and four constant temperatures are carried out on the minitype tube furnance. The gas emission, gas composition, volume gross, caloricity and the compositons of the product are analysised. It shows that after offtaking the delay in pipeline, the gas emission and weight loss are corresponding in a certain degree. As the constant temperature enlarges, the total volumes and caloricity of the gas increase. In the gasification atmosphere, the gas volumes of CO, CO2, CH4, H2 increase, the secondly emission peak emerge or largen, the end of the emission is delied, and the total volumes and caloricity of the gases are larger than in the nitrogen atmosphere.
