Currently the technology used to remove SO2 is expensive in investment, not be recycled or renewable incompletely, difficult in management and maintenance, and so on. Finding a new and more effective method of removing SO2 from flue gas is very important and the absorption method of ion-solutions attracts attention.Ion-solutions contained the substance which was helpful to the absorption of SO2. The ion-solutions is recycled. The ion-solutions absorbed SO2 gas at low temperature, and released SO2 gas at high temperature, so SO2 gas can be concentrated.The experiment investigated the absorption effect of ion-solutions under different conditions to find the best operation conditions and the most important factor for SO2-absorption. The absorption effect under the condition of the parallel flow also should be examined. The experiment compared the effect of the two operation conditions, and studied the feasibility and the capacity of the SO2-absorption under the condition of the parallel flow. The experiment studied the effect of the concentration on the absorption and the role of the components of the solutions.The experiments showed that the ion-solutions can absorb SO2 gas effectively, and the concentration of SO2 gas can be maintained very low at the outlet. The concentration of SO2 gas was the main factor of the gas absorption, but if it exceeded a critical value, the concentration had little effect on SO2 absorption. When the concentration was low, it was different for the release of the SO2 gas. So we needed to find the best range of SO2 concentration. The components of the ion-solutions played different and essential roles for the absorption of SO2 gas. So the control of the proportioning of the ion-solutions to achieve the best result was to be further addressed.
