Photochromic compounds is the molecular changed when under the effect of light, colors also changed with structure changres, and this change is generally reversible. Photochromic materials Can be applied to data storage, display materials and Optical computing materials. So it has potential applications in the future, and It attracts people's attention.Research work in this thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is the the introduction of the design of photochromic materials, There are many good properties of Spiropyran compounds Such as the simple preparation, Good compatibility with organic solvents, High luminous efficiency and good resistance to fatigue. So it attracts people's wide attention. We introduced the Synthesis of Spiropyran compounds, We also introduced their Reaction theory and The impact factors of photochromism.The second part is the synthesis and characterization of new Spiropyran compounds. This paper first synthesized simple Spiropyran of SP1-SP6. Then we synthesized SPA, SPB, SPC, SPD, SPE based on SP6. This compound have been definited the structure by IR, 1H NMR and so on.The third part is the introduction of Properties of Spiropyran compounds, We designed and synthesized some new type of Spiropyran compounds: SP1, SP3, SP4, SP5, SPA, SPB, SPC, SPD and SPE, And do some research of the compounds such as the photochromic and the acid-base discoloration. We also do some comprehensive reseach of the influence of metal ions, solvent polarity to the photochromic of this compounds; We do Gel properties test for the SPA-SPE, And we discover that Spiropyran compounds SPE Has a very good gel performance. We also discover that the gel of SPE has Photochromic properties. We made comprehensive reseach of the Gel properties for SPE.SP6 and compound P Can form of two-component gel, we also do some further research of this two-component gel. We also made desription of the gel's feature by means of TEM and SEM.
