The Research On The Decorative Elements Of Modern American Furniture

This paper has presented an in-depth and systemic study on American furniture including three aspects as below:the component decoration, finishing decoration and carving decoration. This research can deep to the domestic modern American furniture research, filling in the regret about that there is no systematic study of modern American furniture adornment element in domestic, to complete the modern American furniture research theory system. The research can guide the production of the modern American furniture, and provide theoretical basis about the American furniture design and development.Using the methods of the case analysis and induction, to sum up the geometric symmetry feet and bionic feet, and analyse the morphological characteristics about the feet. Sum up the straight leg and bend leg, analyse the morphological characteristics about the leg. Sum up the straight back, rounded back and circinate back, analyse the morphological characteristics about the back. Sum up the flat roof and raised roof, analyse the morphological characteristics about the roof. All above can research the morphological characteristics about the component adornment of American furniture.Using the methods of the case analysis and induction, to sum up the effect of base material damage processing and film archaize processing which are kinds of the American furniture archaize paint, and analyse the style characteristics and paint regular about the American furniture archaize paint, which can provide evidence to explore the process flow of the American furniture archaize paint with polyurethane paint. The research shows that, there are geometric sculpt and bionic sculpt, liner sculpt and stereoscopic sculpt, carving and non-carving in the component decoration, which show the basic morphological rules and usage about the component decoration of American furniture. The research on the paint shows that, there are base material damage processing and film archaize processing in the American paint. The experimental result shows that, the American furniture archaize paint with polyurethane paint is better than the paint with nitrolacquer. The research on the carving shows that, there are single sculpt carving and multi-sculpt carving, emulational sculpt carving and ideographic sculpt carving, symmetrical sculpt carving and non-symmetrical sculpt carving.
