With the rapid development of the polymer materials,it is become the focus of attention for the research and development of polymer materials additives.Triazine absorbers as new light stabilizer have good development prospect for high efficiency,withstand high temperatures,light color and good compatibility.6 kinds of new triazine absorbers were designed and synthesized for few varieties of products and low absorption wavelength.Ultraviolet absorption.thermal stability and light stability of products were tested.In this paper, cyanuric chloride was used as raw material to synthesize 2,4-bisbiphenyl-6-(2-hydroxyl-4-alkoxyl)phenyl-1,3,5-triazine UV absorbers which have two xenyl and one o-hydroxyl group with biphenyl,resorcinol and bromoalkane(bromoalkane of compound 1~3 is n-butyl bromide,n-hexyl bromide and n-octyl bromide respectively).2-(4-biphenyl)-4, 6-bis(2-hydroxyl-4-alkoxyl)phenyl-1,3,5-triazine which have one xenyl and two o-hydroxyl groups were synthesized by cyanuric chloride with 4-bromine biphenyl,resorcinol and bromoalkane (bromoalkane of compound 4~6 is n-butyl bromide,n-hexyl bromide and n-octyl bromide respectively).The optimal reaction conditions were obtained by investigating the yield of each step of the reaction under different conditions.Structures of target compounds were characterized by FTIR,MS and 1HNMR.Ultraviolet absorption of target compounds were tested and compared with UV-1577 and UV-1164.The results showed that compounds 1~3 have one wavelength of maximum absorption. Maximum molar absorption coefficient(εmax) of compounds 1-3 is 79448.28(λmax=318.5nm),80873.51 (λmax=319nm) and 76774.7 L/(mol·cm) (λmax=319nm) respectively.Compounds 4~6 have two wavelength of maximum absorption.Maximum molar absorption coefficient(εmax) of compounds 4~6 is 50502.05 (312nm),52363.88 L/(mol·cm) (336.5nm);45123.59(312nm),49892.84 L/(mol·cm)(339nm);52282.02(311nm) and 53291.56 L/(mol·cm)(337nm)respectively.Maximum molar absorption coefficient(εmax) of UV-1577 and UV-1164 are 42676.89 (275.5nm),22394.07 L/(mol·cm) (341.5nm) and 46678.53 (289.5nm),24869.17 (338nm) L/(mol·cm) The results of light stability test showed that the light stability of compounds 4-6 is as strong as that of UV-1577,the light stability of compounds 1~3 is stronger than that of UV-1577.Degradation rate of compounds 1~3 is less than 2% when degradation rate of UV-1577 is 18.82% at the same conditions. The results of thermal stability test showed that the thermal stability of target compounds were better than that of UV-1577.The temperature of mass loss 5%(T5)of compounds 1-6 are 428.2,420.0,410.1,403.1,400.2 and 391.2℃. The temperature of mass loss 50%(T50) of compounds 1~3,8~10 are 611.9,600.8,597.7,656.2,546.7 and 517.7℃.It is higer than UV-1577 which T5 and T50 are 368.7℃and 447.9℃respectively.
