Nanotechnology is a high-technology, which exploit atomic, molecular and materials in nano-scale shown on the physical, chemical and biological characteristics, to make products with special features, and used widely in various fields. The experiment proved that nano-technology in the application of the coating processing paper is entirely feasible. In this paper, nano-SiO2, nano-Al2O3 and other nano-pigments added in the coating, could make the ink-jet printing images clearer, resolution higher, color ink-jet points more firmly, save performance better. In connection with the problems of the reunion for the nano-pigments, putting forward to the corresponding solutions, and making a preliminary study on the stability of nano-coating. Successfully prepared the high-gloss ink-jet paper.Firstly, by analyzing the relationship between the basic properties of paper and the ink-jet printing, the ink-jet printing paper have chosen by an objective and accurate method. With the color space diagram map and the field density, qualitatively and quantitatively analysis of the gamut of paper, reflecting the performance of the size of the color reproduction. Test based on image resolution, evaluating objectively of image quality. Experiment showed that the basic properties of paper on the image quality of ink-jet print in the order: Absorption > roughness > whiteness > gloss > opacity. With the measurement and analysis on the light and water resistance of ink-jet printing images, reflect quantitatively the save performance of ink-jet printing image. Experiments show that the paper surface absorption speed is the fastest, the light resistance of ink-jet print image is the best; the whiteness of the paper is relatively high, the save performance of the image is well.Secondly, for the problem of the small particle size, the large specific surface area and surface free energy of nano-pigments, easily absorption to agglomerate, modified by nano-pigments, to play the special properties. Experiments show that the average particle size of coating is the largest, the amount of precipitation water is the most, the stability is the worst; with the increase of coating viscosity, stability gradually improved, when reached 500mPa·s, the stability is the best, and then continue to increase the viscosity, the stability gradually decreased; nano-Al2O3 were negative charge, which could be mixed well with nano-SiO2 dispersion, the mixing process can be seen as the process of modification mutually, getting the distributed evenly, good stability, nice compatibility of nano-coating.Thirdly, the nano-pigments have small particle size, large surface area, good ink absorption, and can greatly improve the whiteness, ink absorbency, smoothness and gloss of ink-jet printing paper. Different types of nano-pigments and paint coating formed by the ratio of pore size, pore volume and pore distribution will be different. When the ratio of nano-SiO2 and nano-Al2O3 is 50:50, the coating performance is the best. The optimal experimental formula is that: nano-SiO2/nano-Al2O3 = 50:50; adhesive PVA/rubber latex = 3:1; cationic dispersing agent is 5%; Poly-DMDAAC amount of 1%; other trace additives.
