The grassland covers an enormous fraction of the surface of the earth. Grassland ecosystem services refer to the conditions and processing through which natural ecosystems, and the species that make them up, sustain and fulfill human life. Grasslands produce an array of goods and services for mankind, Because the great majority of the ecosystem services provide the nature capital and welfare in the forms of public goods to the human society, the value of ecosystem services cannot adequately quantified in commercial market, which make the public neglect those value of ecosystem services inevitably. Now the evaluation of grassland ecosystem services has already become the hot topic of quantificational research in ecological economics and ecology.On the basis of quantities of ecological researches of our country and other countries, relative data gathering and acquisition,this thesis has studied the grassland ecosystem services of Suniteyou District. At the same time, we have built 2 one-level and 6 secondary standard Grassland ecosystem services targets, put ecological economics, RS and GIS to use to evaluate Grassland ecosystem services of this area. Using Zhu Wenquan's CASA model and MODIS 1-band and 2-band data to estimate NPP and grassland coverage of Suniteyou District. On this basis, employ substitute energy method, shadow engineering method, substitute engineering method, opportunity cost method to calculate the production value of organic substance; sustain the balance between C02 and 02,nutrient cycling, environmental purification, soil conservation, water storage; the total values of such 6 values are up to 57.0587×108 yuan; in which organic production value 5.14445×108 yuan; 9.02%. maintaining the balance between CO2 and O2 value14.14685×108 yuan; 24.79%. nutrient cycling value 1.47281×108yuan; 2.58%. purification of environmental pollution value 0.1838×108 yuan;0.32%. the value of soil erosion control 35.10632×108 yuan; 61.35%. the value of water conservation 1.0045×108yuan; 1.76%.From the evaluation result we can see, Indirect economic value is far larger than traditional direct economic value. Therefore the significant value of grassland is realized in this kind of indirect use value provided by the ecological function and processes of forest ecosystem. It is these kinds of ecosystem services that support the life processes of mankind by supplying soil fertility, quality water and fresh air.
