Gansu province is one of the main producing areas of bentonite, and Hongquan bentonite mine in Jinchang city has the largest reserves, the most value, and the best known by experts and scholars. Lacking of awareness of the innovation in product development and technological innovation, local businesses can't make full use of the wealth of mineral resources. Because of a lower grade bentonite products, they are lack of strength competing with other areas businesses.According to the situations, we want to develop the high value-added products of bentonite, to improve the product value and enhance the competitiveness of local enterprises through a rich product range.First, we selecte two bentonite products:activated clay and organo-bentonite, and introduce the related content of them like industrial applications, technology and raw materials of producting at the same time. After that, we choose the preparation processes of activated clay and organo-bentonite.Second, we choose conditions of the prepared samples, arranging test methods by orthogonal test program, and preparing of the activated clay and organo-bentonite samples in accordance with the different test conditions. For the activated clay, we determine indicators in accordance with national standards; for the organic bentonite, we determine the decolorization of the solution of methyl orange and SBR wastewater to judge sample quality.Third, after the test results are analyzed and evaluated, we get the best preparation conditions of activated clay and organo-bentonite. As the indicator to decolorization, the optimal preparation conditions of activated clay is solid-liquid ratio of 1:6, sulfuric acid concentration of 20%, acidification time of 2.5h, acidification temperature of 80℃, and the decolorization is 100%; as the indicator to the activity degree, the optimal preparation conditions is solid-liquid ratio of 1:4, sulfuric acid concentration of 20%, acidification time of 2.0h, acidification temperature of 75℃, and the activity degree is 207. As the indicator to decolorization of methyl orange of the organic bentonite, the best preparation conditions is reaction time of 0.5h, reaction temperature of 50℃, CTMAB addition of 5.40g, solid-liquid ratio of 1:6, and the decolorization is 99%; as the indicator to decolorization of SBR wastewater, the optimal preparation conditions is reaction time of 0.5h, reaction temperature of 50℃, CTMAB addition of 5.40g, solid-liquid ratio of 1:4, and the decolorization is 82%.Finally, we draw this conclusion according to the test analysis and demonstration results. We propose the recommendations of the development of activated clay and organo-bentonite by Hongquan bentonite, pointing out that the shortcomings of this study and proposing pilot study of future. |
