Study On Arrangement Modes Of Wetland Plants In Chongqing Downtown Areas

Having fully realized the importance of wetlands construction to the sustainable development of Chongqing, Chongqing Municipal committee and Municipal government proposed the vital strategic decision of forest Chongqing in 2008. This paper, against such a big backdrop, carried out a preliminary exploration and research on the different arrangement modes of wetland plants in Chongqing downtown areas.Regarding wetland plants, the majority of scholars often conduct the research from the aspects of constructing the overall landscape of wetland plants or the role of wetland plants in water purification. However, there relatively less research on the arrange modes of wetland plants with dual functions of purifying water and building landscape.By ecology, garden aesthetics, botany, statistics and other theories, this paper, based on previous studies of water purification and landscape construction by wetland plants, carried out research on arrangement modes of wetland plants in Chongqing downtown areas as follows:First, after summarizing the kinds of wetland plants in Chongqing, this paper mainly researches community wetland, park wetland and wetland park and analyses the embankment forms of different kinds of wetland and the the status of applying aquatic plants. Though literature consultation and investigation, this paper offers a summary of the common kinds of aquatic plants in Chongqing, embankment forms and arrangement modes of plants.Second, though literature consultation and investigation, a summary of the water purification capacity of wetland plants in Chongqing is offered, which comes in three levels: excellent, good, medium. By combining specialized knowledge, the researcher studies the features of the common aquatic plants, including shape, texture, color, fragrance and so on, and also analyses the suitable types of wetland and arrangement modes, according to the water purification capacity and ornamental characteristics of aquatic plants. Third, by investigating and studying the embankment forms of community wetland, park wetland and wetland park and the status of applying aquatic plants, evaluation criteria on arrangement modes of plants is initially formulated.Fourth, research on the enbankment forms of wetlands under typical terrain and climatic conditions of Chongqing and choosing aquatic plants is conducted, and the terraced-field three-dimensional afforestation mode of wetland park in Caiyun Lake is analysed.Fifth, through the research above, the overall knowlege of arrangement modes of wetland plants in Chongqing downtown areas and recommendations for future work are offered.
