With the rapid development of automobile industry and the keener and keener competition in the automobile market, reduce production costs and shorten the development cycle of new vehicle type. These have already become the development profitable target for the automobile factory. In the automobile production, many structural elements and the covering parts are made by the stamping manufacturing. However, in the process of stamping manufacturing(blanking, bending, tension est.), increasing sheet cutting efficiency and reducing the defect which appears in the forming process (Split in Stamping, Split on Stamping Edge, Wrinkle, Spring back, Low Stretch,Oil Canning) have the vital significance.Because of these conditions, the works as follow were studied.(i) For increasing sheet cutting efficiency, first of all, introducing the theory of stamping techniques; and then this article uses a method which can change concave polygon into convex polygon and introduces the solution to the minimum the polygon. That may optimize the computer layout more efficiency and accuracy. In the last, it will develop a software module named as KMAS\BLANKNESTING. Through the project actual example's confirmation, showed this article proposed the smallest enveloping algorithm has a improvement in the accuracy and the efficiency.(ii) According to the automobile covering parts'forming characteristic, classify the stamping variable of panel forming and stamping defects. To further analyzed the low stretch defects. Based on the theory of universal formability technology and COMX software platform developed an accurate analysis software module named as low stretch to solve the automobile covering parts'forming defects. Then applied to the front fenders of a car in engineering practice, successfully resolved the low stretch defects, and eliminated the latent defect question by the solution to improvement technological parameter which it gives.
