As is well known, phosphorus is one of the key eutrophication factors. In recent years, the lake eutrophication status of China is extremely serious, the phosphorus concentration limit of urban sewage effluent is increasingly stringent, and the standard transformation facing an urgent need to upgrade. Photocatalytic as a new water treatment technology has been widely studied, TiO2 photocatalytic material has become the hot topics due to its economic, non-toxic, efficient and complete decomposition of pollutants, etc. However, the pure TiO2 was limited in application because of wide band gap, low utilization rate of visible light and difficult to recycle. The photocatalytic reduction of phosphorus in the wastewater under visible light irradiation with Sr-doped TiO2 was studied in the paper,.(1) The optimum amount of formic acid, pH and reaction time were 60 mmol/L 4.00 and 3h, respectively, and the phosphorus concentration of the effluent was below 0.2mg/L when used to treat the domestic sewage with the phosphorus concentration 7.423 mg/L. The effect of phosphorus removal was enhanced adding in formic acid under visible light compared to the control group.(2) Kinetic analysis was conducted under optimum conditions in the study, the reaction was fitted by first-order dynamics kinetic equation and zero-order kinetics equation, and the reaction order could be preliminary reached between 0 and 1.(3)The reaction of phosphorus removal was mainly absorption reaction through the mass conservation analysis and kinetic analysis.(4) After a total phosphorus before and after sewage treatment, The removal rate of total phosphorus, CODcr, nitrate, nitrite nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen reached 96.47%,-282.42%,-691.2%,92.0%,6.1% and 45.8%, respectively after monitoring water quality.(5) The effluent phosphorus concentration could be declined to 0.2 mg/L less than MSBR, oxidation ditch, constructed wetlands and other methods, it is a promising method for phosphorus removal and eutrophication control. While the CODCr, total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen was not reach the standard, and further research should be developed on the aspects of costs control and improve the performance of catalyst.
