Facing the global energy and environmental pressure, how to promote energy saving and emission reduction of glass industry, is the whole social and economic major issue. Energy conservation and emission reduction work well done, can promote the glass industry upgrading, reduce the operation cost, and enhances the market competitiveness of the enterprise. The first step of glass production is the selection of raw material, therefore we should starting from the very beginning. Different particle size needs different heating, different rate of silicate decomposition and reaction, which affects the melting temperature and the glass of the heating rate, and holding time, thus influence glass of melting system effect.This experiment mainly divided into two parts, the first part is through adjusting main raw material of glass cooperate material,such as silica sand, dolomite, limestone particle size, respectively making three melting 1350℃,1450℃and 1550℃three temperature, then respectively melting insulation for 0.5 h, 1h and 2h.At last analytical study the bubble and stripes of glass. The second part of the experiment is to mill silicon sanding to a certain graded range, through the SEM and XRD to analyze the glass samples'internal morphology and crystal situation in different gradation conditions, thus analysis of measured glass cooperate material fusion rate.The results were as follows:In the first part of experiments, the order of the different silicon sand granularity melting rate is<0.114mm>0.114~0.2mm>0.3~0.4mm>0.2~0.3mm. Glass bubble and stripe along with the increase of silica sand degrees gradually reduce, glass improved transparency. The least bubbles of silicon sand granularity is 0.3~0.4 mm sample, and the stripe of the sample is not obvious, which followed by 0.2~0.3 mm. But after a comprehensive comparison, the least bubbles of alkaline raw materials granularity is 2.5~3.0mm sample, and the stripe of the sample is not obvious.In the second part experiments, the smaller silicone sand, the faster crystal melting degree, also faster the silicate reaction process. The smaller silicon sand sample can obtain better melting effect at the same temperature. The main process silicate reaction stage for:cristobalite change into crystallibate at 1000-1050℃, SiO2 began to have reactions with alkali and alkaline earth metal oxides, which created silicate; the reactions became larger in 1100-1150℃, while crystallibate melted, number of crystals in glass began to decrease significantly; the crystal completely melted at about 1200℃, the stage of silicate reaction ended.The project was supported by the Foundation of Wuhan university of technolog(2010-ZY-CL-005).
