Starlike Inner Race is one of the most important parts in car Transmission System. Its mechanical properties and the shape of the structure and the size is required very strictly. The billet size and process parameters have great influence on the life of the mold on the Finish-forging of the Starlike Inner Race. So optimize the size and the forging process have some guidance to actual production.This article summarizes the development of the cold forging technology at home and abroad. Introduce the finite element method and DEFORM software. Use DEFORM-3D software sets the finish-forging in the process of finite element simulation. Compare the program one (direct forging the up and the low step) and program two (do not direct forging the up and the low step). Optimized the billet size and process parameters of the Starlike Inner Race. Major work and results of this thesis are summarized as follows:1.Compare program one and program two under the same parameters, using the program two is better than program one. The maximum strain of die and maximum load are smaller than the program one when using program two.2.In billet volume optimization, the billet filled with cavity's minimum volume "V" is 3665.9mm3.2.In the billet size optimization, considering the equivalent stress of die and total energy consumption. When the out diameter is 56.2mm, in diameter is 20.5mm, high is 35.5mm, the diameter is 17.3mm, the billet size is the best one.3.In study the relationship between forging process and the die temperature of the same parameters, in the same push velocity,the higher the friction coefficient, the higher temperature of die and workpiece was;In the same friction coefficient, the higher the push velocity, the higher temperature of workpiece. But the mold temperature is lower.4. In the parameters optimization, the best process parameters while the friction coefficient is 0.05,push speed is 10 mm/s.
