This dissertation studied on the development of simulation system of the JCS-018A Vertical Machining Center with an added polishing device. With research of related technologies, initial simulation of Polishing has been reached, which could forecast the quality of Polishing and help to select the proper parameters of Polishing.In the Windows XP environment, based on Open Inventor and VC++2003. net the dissertation studied on and solved several questions:how to merge the view windows of OIV and MFC; how to construct the models and transform them into the formats that Open Inventor could recognize, and then input the models to show them in the window; how to move the models inputted to different locations, and make them rotate as control; how to develop the Boolean Algorithm to achieve the material removal in the process of polishing. After finishing the tasks above, this thesis developed the preliminary simulation software based on the Machining Center with an added polishing device, which could construct the simulation environment through drawing and importing the three-dimensional models and also could drive the imported models moving as the user's control. At the same time, simple Boolean cutting was achieved. With the main features above, the software finish the preliminary Geometry Simulation.At the same time, through the study of ways of constructing Neural Network and achieving the corresponding BP algorithm, this paper constructed two 4×8×1 models of Neural Network and achieved the BP algorithm making use of VC++2003. net. In the neural network models constructed, input parameters are spindle speed, feed rate, polishing times and positive pressure and output parameters are Surface roughness or the removed amount. With the momentum factor to increase the speed of training data, through a number of training times on experimental data, when the models learned from the data and became more and more similar with the real physical process, physical simulation from inputs to outputs of the polishing has been achieved. After the work above, the paper analyzed and discussed in details the change process of the deviation in the data after training to confirm that the models constructed and the BP Algorithm used are both right. At the same time, with the results of the model, the paper analyzed and verified the models'abilities of forecast and its deviation. Through the work above, not only the correctness of the models but also the abilities of forecast are proved, which make the purpose achieved.After finishing the two steps above, Geometry Simulation and Physics Simulation are merged in the same windows program, which achieve the simulation of Polishing.
