| In this article, the elastic recoveries of the biodegradable copolymer polybutylene succinate-co-butylene terephthalate (PBST) and other elastic polymer poly (trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT), PBT, and T400 filaments were comparatively analyzed by a tensile testing machine. And then, detailed investigations on the properties of interwoven fabrics of wool and elastic polyester fibers have been implemented. So the application in the future of PBST wool fabrics was discussed. This provided certain basis for the application of PBST fibers in the costume field.The following contents were studied in this paper.Firstly, the tensile performance and the elastic recovery of PBST filament, PTT filament, PBT filament and PET/PTTT composite filament were researched and its influence of elongation and stretching times and the difference of the elastic recovery of PBST filaments, PTT filaments PBT filament and PET/PTTT composite filament. In this basis the mechanical matrix of PBST filaments was discussed. The results showed that the elastic recovery of PBST filaments was better than PTT filaments in about 9% low deformation, but in higher deformation it was worse than PTT filaments. When PBST filaments were elongated to 15%, the elastic recovery rate up to over 94.6 percent; when set the elongation of 25% and elaongate repeatedly 9 times, the elastic recovery rate of PBST filaments still up to 80.6%. The elastic recovery of PTT filaments was lower than PBST filaments when it was elongated less than 15%, but it woule better than PBST filaments when elongated more than 15%. PET/PTTT composite filament had better resistance to deformation, but it had bad elastic recovery.Furthermore, Through the introduction of tested data of their properties such as thickness, air permeability, drape performance, tensile performance, stretching resiliency, fuzz and pill resistance, and wrinkle resistance, the properties of wool/PBST fabrics have been detailed investigations and compared with wool/PTT fabric, wool/PBT fabric and wool/T400 fabric. The conclusion had reference value for the development and application of PBST fibres. The results showed that wool/PBST fabrics and wool/PTT fabric have the better stretching resiliency than wool/PBT fabric and wool/T400 fabric, which indicated that wool/PBST fabrics have the very good flexible property.In addition, the KES styles of fabrics were analyzed. And the results showed that wool/PBST fabrics had better softness and fullness, so it could weave women loose-fitting, stiff and smooth, suspended pattern and light weight fabrics and men winter light weight fabrics. Thus the development and application of the products of PBST fiber were discussed. |
