Domestic low grade NC machine have been brought into wide use in small and medium-sized enterprises in China, but in high-tech NC machine competition our advantage is not obvious. The increasing needs of NC machine and competitive pressure from foreign advanced NC machine enterprises, has set higher demands in Chinese NC machine enterprises. Nowadays domestic NC machine have made great progress in quality, however domestic NC machine has a lot of deficiencies, that low reliability has become an imperative factor in restricting Competitiveness of domestic NC machine. Survey figures show that, core function parts faults are the major cause of lowreliability in domestic NC machine. ATC is one of the most important function parts in CNC machine center. Improving ATC reliability is of great significance in improving NC machine reliability. This thesis is a part of development plan of national high-tech research key technical development and application of reliability of NC equipment and its system, build reliability test bench for researching reliability of ATC. Shorten the period of test by means of fault Accelerated Test.In this paper, the main works are followed:(1)Test bench hardware design: research Dalian Taixin Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. Rotary-type Tool Changer YP4024(â…¡), design and build test bench, design electric circuit for reaching expected target of test.(2)Write the PLC control program. Realize the control of test bench by PLC, through the contrast of the two control methods. Analyzed working process of ATC, write the control program with CX-Programmer for reliability test.(3)Write control program with Visual Basic in host computer to control PLC by PLC Communication Function. Control program include: interface design, two operation mode design (manual mode and automatic mode), establish database of the control system, detect common faults of ATC and alarm the operator.
