Quantum dots (QDs) have many advantages and extensive applications in Biology, Medicine and Pharmacy as a novel kind of nano-fluorescent probe. Paeonol and quercetin are two active ingredients of Chinese medicine. In this paper, the interactions between aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs witn paeonol and quercetin have been researched respectively. Meanwhile, the effect on the interaction between paeonol and BSA in the presence of aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs has been studied. The main contents are as follows:1. The studay on the interaction between aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs with paeonol and quercetin Fluorescence spectroscopy and UV-Vis absorption were used to study the interaction, the main reaction mechanism was discussed, and the structure which could interact with aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs was infered.2. Aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs as fluorescence probes for paeonol and quercetin determination A rapid, sensitive and convenient quantitative assay for quercetin and paeonol were proposed based on the quenching of fluorescence intensity of aqueous CdSe/ZnS quantum dots. The samples were determined by the proposed method, and satisfactory results were obtained.3. The interaction between paeonol and BSA in the presence of aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs Compared with the interaction between paeonol and BSA without the presence of aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs, the impact on the interaction between paeonol and BSA in the presence of aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs was studied. The results show that aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs had weak influence on aqueous CdSe/ZnS QDs.
