The emergence of new CNC equipment makes the demand of dedicated CAM system even eager. The purpose is to help the user design in a simple and easy way, support manufacturing process, and provide automated processing of the calculation of functions. For the LXK300X CNC complex screw shaped milling machine, designed by the research center of CNC of Shenyang University of Technology, we use C++Builder 6 development environment, OpenGL and database techniques to research and development the special CNC automatic programming system for support of complex shaped screw-shaped design, profile descriptions, and CNC code generation and simulation verification.For the design and description of the contour, two input methods of curve expression and data sets are designed. B-spline, polynomial and cycloid special mathematical tools are used to repair external shape in order to compensate for the abnormal point of analysis and testing. And a complete expression interpreter to parse the parameters is constructed. It achieves checking and processing methods of a variety of contour designs, including fitting calibration, contour testing and interference checking, etc., and a graphical representation is given. By the research of the theory and CNC machining simulation and modeling methods, it solves 3D simulation of the machining process problems. A CNC code and triangulation using axial depth to describe information based 3D surface intersection is proposed. The algorithm uses regular triangular element to cut up workpiece and cutter, does the intersection calculation according to the axial depth of the workpiece, and builds the 3D shape of the workpiece. CNC code generation is achieved using data-driven type.The evaluation of the software system proves that the algorithm is simple, practical and highly efficient, and the shape has a very strong sense of reality. It can be applied to general screws, screw conical shapes of the complex surface machining.System-generated CNC code is accurate. Since the work covers the whole process of complex screw processing, it is good for secondary processing.
