Eutrophication is one of the most important environmental problems in our country. The studies on phosphorus action in the interface of sediment-water is ne of the key elements which helps find the mechanism of Eutrophication. This paper, there are five cross-section of the Liao He River sediments. Distribution character of phosphorus forms in the sediment was analyzed, and isotherms for phosphorus sorption onto superficial sediments was studied.The TP content in sediment range from 100 to 130mg/kg. The IP was the major phosphorus species and accounted for 82-86% of TP, while Fe/Al-P accounted for 42~48% of TP. The TP content is mainly under the influence of Fe/Al-P. Fe/Al-P and Ca-P had a little correlation. OP was significantly and positively correlated to Ca-P. The phosphate adsorption isotherms on sediment from Liao He accord with the Langmnir isotherm as well as the Freundlish isotherm in the high initial phosphorus concentration. The phosphate adsorption isotherms on sediment from Liao He were fitted by linear model in low initial phosphorus concentration. The phosphorus adsorption-desorption equilibrium concentration is from 0.1143mg/l~0.1233mg/l.It was higher than the critical concentration except for Fu de dian, the possibility of phosphorus release is high. The phosphorus adsorption was endothermic reaction, adsorption increases with increasing temperature. PH on the phosphorus adsorption in the sediments have a greater impact, the adsorption in acidic(pH=5) and neutral(pH=7) or less, rather than in alkaline(pH=9).
