Heavy oil resources is abundant in our country and recoverable oil is huge. With the decline of conventional crude oil production, heavy oil exploitation become more and more important. Gudao Zhongerzhong reservoir is typical common heavy reservoir, with water flooding development, we get good production result. Steam flooding is a kind of visionary exploitation method for better heavy oil recovery. Steam flooding's principle is to inject the high dryness steam continuously from the injection well to the reservoir, heat reservoir by a large margin and reduce the viscosity of crude oil greatly. The injected thermal fluid will drive the oil to the wells around and recover it to the ground. We must make physical simulation experiment to research steam flooding after water flooding in common heavy reservoir, provide parameter for project design of exploitation.Physical model is comprised of the scaled-down factors affect the physical phenomena and processes. We can study the mechanism and make predictions by simulating the model. Similarity criterion is the conditions which make the model phenomenon similar to the prototype phenomenon. It's the basis of model design and model test. This paper derives the similarity criterion of the water flooding and steam flooding by the physical production process of the water and steam drive. We also analyze the sensitivity of the similarity criterion to get the main similarity criterion group of physical model used for physical simulation quantitatively, define its physical meaning clearly and verify its rationality. We compile the software for converse the model defined by the similarity criterion group and prototype, simplify the make of the physical model and provide the basis for select parameters of the physical simulation process.
