Hexanolactam, glycerin, diethylene glycol and sugar are usually used as modifier of melamine resin in short cycle under the low pressure. This article studied how the modifiers influenced on solid content including the time of condensation reaction and stability of melamine resin and how the modifiers influenced on the property of melamine resin in short cycle under the low pressure including its viscosity,pH, the time of condensation reaction, the time of turbidity,working life and discussed the property of laminates with melamine-impregnated paper including its cigarette resistances, the water vapor resistance,the abrasion and the checking resistance.two-components(hexanolactam and sugar,hexanolactam and diethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and sugar were used as modifier of melamine resin in short cycle under the low pressure in this study. The article studied how the two-component modifiers influenced on the property of melamine resin. At the same time, this article studied the facts that affected the wetting property of melamine resin with the static contact angle instrument and the scanner. At last this article studied how the hot press progress affected the faced-particleboard property. The results showed that of the resin modified by hexanolactam had the most content, that the time for condensation reaction changed from 140 minutes to 190 minutes,that the stability could be increas from 9 days to 22days,that the resin modified by glycerin and diethylene glycol had less content; the time changed from 90 minutes to150 minutes and the stability could be added from 8 days to 12days,that the resin modified by sugar had the least content; the time was the shortest which changes from 60 minutes to 90 minutes, but the reaction was hard to control and the stability could be only increased 7days to 9 days, that the feeding ways of hexanolactam, glycerin, and diethylene glycol could not influence the stability obviously, instead the way of sugar was converse. The results showed that the viscosity, pH of the resin was not obviously different. Working life of the resin modified was above 12h. The time of turbidity of the resin without modifier was 4min and the curing time was 8min. The time of turbidity of the resin modifier by sugar and the curing time did not changed obviously. The time of turbidity of the resin modified by glycerin, and diethylene glycol was 6min and the curing time was 8min respectively. The time of turbidity of the resin modified by hexanolactam was 7min and the curing time was 10min. The melamine-impregnated paper was used to glue the particleboard. Its cigarette resistances and the water vapor resistance was dot distinctly. But the abrasion and the checking resistance changed obviously. The abrasion and the checking resistance of the laminates modified by hexanolactam, glycerin, and diethylene glycol were better, but sugar was reverse. (2) It is better that the property of the faced-particleboard with paper impregnated with modified MF. (3) It is remarkable that modifier, soaker and decor paper affected the MF soaking property. Sugar was disadvantage to the soaking property. Hexanolactam and diethylene-glycol were favor of the soaking property, but there were no distinction between them. The soaker could improve the soaking property. The microstructure of decor paper affected the soaking property obviously. (4) It is frothy if the temperature was too high when the particleboard wre faced. (5) At the end this article specialized and compared three MF production cost.
