Superhydrophobic surfaces have a broad application prospects in the defense industry, agriculture production, and people's daily lives because of its excellent hydrophobic self-cleaning performance. Therefore more and more attentions were paid on their preparation technology and performance research. Although many different kinds of methods were used to prepare superhydrophobic surfaces, they have not been widely used due to technology limitations. So it is the key of investigation to search a kind of simple and pratical preparation method for preparing superhydrophobic surfaces. In this paper, firstly MTES and TEOS hydrolysised and condensated into inorganic particles to pruduce hybrid emulsion, then superhydrophobic organic - inorganic coatings were parepared by base catalyzed sol-gel method.Core-shell silicone acrylate emulsion were prepared by semi continous emulsion polymerization method, using MMA as hard monomer,BA as soft monomer,HEMA and MAA as functional monomers. The mass ratio of hard and soft monomers was 2:3. the mass ratio of OP-10 and DNS-86 was 1:1. Emulsifier, initiator and silicone resin A-174 dosage were 3.0%,1.0% and 5.0% respectively of the total monomers mass. Silicone acrylate emulsion of white with blue light was obtained at 80℃with good film forming and stability.Silicone acrylate emulsion was dissolved in cosovent ethanol. MTES and TEOS were hydrolysised and condensated to prepare hybrid matetials catalysted by ammonia. Results showed that the optimal conditions for preparation of acrylic emulsion dosage were silicone acrylate emulsion 25% (Wt%), the molar ratio of TEOS: MTES: C2H5OH: AMP-95: NH3·H2O was 1:4:30:0.63:10, 6h at room temperature. Hybrid coatings were prepared by spraying organic-inorganic hybrid materials after painting waterborne glass coatings to the substrate.The water contact angle on the coatings was 156°, the hardness up to 2H.
